INDIA - FREEDOM AND
BEYOND - I

15.08.06 - Vol I - No. 1

Introduction

Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture humbly offers its "bulletin" at the lotus feet of our Sweet Mother. Mother had always maintained that Sri Aurobindo had provided all the answers to India's problems. And, just before Sri Aurobindo's centenary, She created a "delivery mechanism" to convey these answers in the form of an organization She called "Sri Aurobindo's Action" with Sri Pradyot Kumar Bhattacharya as its Founder Chairman. With his frail health and Joya Mitter frequently by his side, he moved through towns and villages creating and building awareness of the message.

'Basudhara' originally had been a literary magazine and then got transformed into a journal of Sri Aurobindo's Action. Later, it became the organ of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture.

Today's India needs more than ever before Sri Aurobindo's message. This journal will, in His and Her own words, offer that. Problems affecting and afflicting the lay Indian will be addressed here. We shall see that the seers of the Life Divine have also addressed themselves to the problems that trouble and perplex the youth of India. Their insight will serve as a beacon light to a resurgent India, and this bulletin will be offered to that cause.

The bulletin of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture will be published once in two months. All who are interested in receiving a copy of this journal may kindly address themselves to the Secretary, Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture or click here to make a online request.

Sri Aurobindo had once electrified an entire nation and transformed a patriotic song to the mantra of India's independence. People across the nation used to wait with baited breath for the following issue of His "Bande Mataram". His pen will race again, and may the sons and daughters of our motherland hearken to His clarion call.

Ranjan Mitter
Secretary
