Inauguration of La Mere Annual 2010

La Mere Annual 2010 was Inaugurated by Dr. Ranen Ayan Dutt, eminent painter and art personality on the 15th Anniversary of the gallery. Tribute was paid to Late Paritosh Sen who had inaugurated the opening of La Mere Annual and whose paintings have been exhibited regularly at Galerie La Mere. The Secretary in his speech spoke about the Mother and Her work as an artist.

The Inauguration Programme was well attended and that too by eminent artists and discerning art lovers.

The show comprised of paintings from eminent Artists' using various media. Jogen Chowdhury's as well as Suhas Roy's work (both untitled) using Dry Pastel.
Aditya Basak's “Duck”, Amit Sakar's “Khushi”, Suktisubhra Pradhan's “Landscape”, Krishna Bandyopadhyay's “Mood”, Ramananda Bandyopadhyay's “Kuntala” all showed beautiful usage of Mixed Media.
Chhatrapati Dutta's “A sword after a fist” portayed usage of Water Colour and Ink on Paper and Partha Pratim Deb' “The Lady” is Ink and Acrylic on Acid Free Paper.
Usage of Acrylic could be seen on Asoke Mullick's untitled work; B R Panesar's “Environment”, Biswajit Saha's “Face”, Debabrata Chakrabarti's “Warrior”, Dhiraj Chowdhury's “My Sweet Lord”, Dwijen Gupta's “Oneness”, Munindra Rajbongshi's, “Outer”, Rabin Mondal's “Woman”, Samindranath Majumdar's “Beyond Boundary”, Sanatan Dinda's “Yeogopurush”, Shanu Lahiri's “Head”, Subrata Chowdhury's “The Queen”, Subrata Gangopadhyay's “She” and Sudip Banerjee's “Door of Royal Procession”.
Amal Chakladar's “The Cloud Messenger”, Atin Basak's untitled work and Bratin Khan's “Enlightened Purusha” portrayed gorgeous usage of Tempera.
Kishore Chatterjee's “Meta Battle Field” showed use of Ink on Imported Paper. Oil was used by Somenath Maity for his work titled “Structure” and Anita Roy Chowdhury for her “Composition”. Parag Roy's engraving work titled “Tale of the Pond” was highly appreciated.
