Inauguration of Durga, 2009


Shri Ranjan Mitter, Secretary of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture of which Galerie` La Me`re is a part welcomed the gathering consisting of artists, devotees and general art lovers of the city by citing the profound symbolism of inaugurating the exhibition on a very auspicious day and highlighted the exhibition's uniqueness.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Biswanath Roy also referred to the significance of the occasion and alluded to the importance of this gallery in promoting and nurturing art in Calcutta. The show acquired additional importance as it coincided with the Centenary of publication of Sri Aurobindo's 'Durga Stotra'.
