13-Apr-10 Basanta Utsab

Basanta Utsab was celebrated jointly with Rabindra Bharati University, as a part of an ongoing working venture with them. The Programme was held on Apr 13, 2010 based on the script “Basanta” written by Rabindranath Tagore. Nearly one hundred participants from Rabindra Bharati University, Surangama, Baikali and Dakhin Kolkata Nandiniki partcipated in the programme, ably supervised by Shri Ashish Bhattacharjee and Smt. Pramita Mallick.

Shri Anup Matilal, Director of Culture, Govt. of West Bengal, spoke on the importance of organising this type of events. Prof. Amita Dutt, Dean of the Visual Arts, Rabindra Bharati University also spoke on the occasion and expressed her pleasure on this joint venture between the two Institutions. Shri Ranjan Mitter, Secretary of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture, welcomed the audience and guests and highlighted on the bonding between Sri Aurobindo and Rabindranath Tagore.

With able narration by Subir Mitra and Subir Bandyoadhyay, and direction by Aditya Mitra, Dr. Arkadeb Bhattacharyya, Urmila Ghosh, and Jayashree Bhattacharyya the programme was a huge success.
