The paradigm shift in education as upheld and cherished by Arun Nursery and The Future Foundation School is centred on a collective endeavour to move towards the realisation of perfection and to harmonise education with the lives of the learners so that they can develop in body, mind and spirit. Learning Pageant 2009 was a reflection of this endeavour.The purpose of this year’s Learning Pageant was to showcase the teaching-learning methods that we nurture here. It was a microcosm of the different experiences that the learners and the facilitators have in this place, in an elevating enrichment of body, mind and spirit.

The Pageant was organised on 12 and 13 November 2009 in the school premises. Dr. Saugat Muherjee, Regional Director,CII Eastern Region, Kolkata graced the inauguration as the Chief Guest and Ms. Sunita Sen, Principal, Ballygunge Shiksha Sadan, Kolkata as the Guest of Honour. Our Principal Mr Ranjan Mitter spoke on the increasing and important role of Industry in school education. Dr. Mukherjee talked about building a Vision of India 75 years after independence. Ms. Sen spoke about the true meaning of Learning and said that Learning is a two-way process, the teacher and the student learning together and from each other.

The Pageant encapsulated the myriad activities that teachers facilitate and students experience in that euphoric adventure called ‘learning’. Starting from theme-based displays in the pre-primary and primary sections, it gradually metamorphosed into a subject wise display of skills and concept learning. The displays themselves assumed a variety of forms ranging from worksheets and mind maps to students' experiments, role-plays and computer-aided presentations. It portrayed the cumulative effort and intiatives taken throughout the term where the progress in learning at different levels was displayed in a graded manner. Parents came in large numbers, curious to see what their wards have been doing in school for the best part of half a year.

The Pageant was honoured by the visit of several noted academics, educational service providers and head of institutions of Kolkata who were unanimous in their appreciation of the efforts that went in to shape it.
