Knowledge Conclave - Nature Club - 6th-8th Apr 2006

Neighbourhood Youth Connect - The children put up a stall displaying the Rainwater Harvesting system at T.F.F.S. and other
methods of harvesting water. A model, charts and leaflets were used to generate awareness
about water conservation.
Conclave Youth Connect - The children were divided in groups comprising of different
school students. Each group had to put up a presentation.
Panel discussion - Several topics were discussed which connected the social and
scientific aspects that the children are involved in.
Objectives - Communication, social and creative skills were developed in the children.
They were exposed to the activities of other schools and thus motivated to enhance their skills further.

Earth Day (22.Apr.06) Celebrations at Hall of Light - Nature Club - 21st Apr 2006

An Inter-house Poster Competition with Slogans was organized for all students from Classes IX to XII
Topic: Protect Bio-diversity
Objectives: The Earth Day celebrations created an awareness to protect our planet and
use its natural resources in a judicious manner for sustainability. These activites aimed to sensitise
the young minds to the need for understanding ecological problems and to develop a love and take
initiatives to contribute towards conservation.

Frank Anthony Memorial All India Inter-school Debate - 28th April 2006

On 28th April 2006, T.F.F.S. hosted the Frank Anthony Memorial All India Inter-school Debate (Category I, Pool BII).
9 schools participated in the debate which was judged by eminent teachers, authors and journalists.
Assam Valley School won the laurels while La Martiniere for Boys secured the 2nd position. Arjun Rajkrawa of
Assam Valley School was adjudged the best speaker.

International Conference on Integrated Value Education - 26th-28th June 2006

Three teachers (Krishnakoli Mukherjee, Maddhuchanda Banerjee, Subhabrata Chowdhury) and one student (Rajashri Banerjee, Class XB) of T.F.F.S. attended the first International Conference on Integrated Value Education
organised by the Art of Living Foundation at Bangalore. The conference was co-organised by UNESCO and MHRD.
It witnessed an unprecedented congregation of educationists, entrepreneurs, social workers
and government representatives from different corners of the planet. The sessions discussed
various nuances of imparting values to young and not-so-young learners.

Celebration of 'Rath Yatra' with children of 'Atma Vikas' - Interact Club - 3rd July 2006

Students along with a teacher visited the 'Atma Vikas School' with a 'Rath' and sweets. Old school uniforms were distributed
to the under-privileged children.

Books donation by American Center - 6th July 2006
|
|
|
|
T.F.F.S. was presented with a set of 30 scholastic books on woman by Ms. Susan M. Shultz, prior to her
departure from Kolkata after a three-year tenure as the director of American Center.
The titles primarily deal with path-breaking accomplishments made by prominent women in American history.
Ms. Shultz said, "Students who read the books will discover woman who have made a real difference to all
our lives through their immense contribution".
The books feature exceptional woman athletes, journalists, women in the field of medicine, among others.
Interesting titles include "The World at Her Finger-tips", "Little Women", biographies of extra-ordinary
American women like Rosa Parks and Oprah Winfrey.
