Some Activities of Nature Club of T.F.F.S.

Anti-whaling campaign

The students and the teachers participated in a 'Virtual March' initiated by Green Peace International, as part of the anti-whaling campaign. Individual photographs of all the participants with placards were taken and subsequently uploaded on the web-site created specifically for this purpose.
The aim of this activity was to protest the killing of whales in South Korea and generate awareness among the students about the dangers of commercial whaling and the significance of whales in the eco-system. The “Virtual March” was an effective way for the students to get involved in global conservation issues for the first time.

Visit to the mayor

The Nature Club members had an interactive seesion with the then Mayor of Kolkata, Mr Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya. The children briefed him on the issue of the deplorable condition of N.S.C. Bose Road. An appeal in writing supported with photographs was submitted to the Mayor , which he accepted with the promise of prompt action.
