- THE EARTH IS BEAUTIFUL, APPRECIATE IT
- THE EARTH IS BRIGHT AND COLOURFUL, ENJOY IT
- THE EARTH IS IN DANGER, PROTECT IT
- THE EARTH IS AN ABODE FOR A VARIETY OF FLORA AND FAUNA, DON'T DESTROY IT

Nature's marvels and mysteries continue to occupy the brightest minds across the world. Mother Earth has given us everything; but what have we given her?

We have polluted her seas and oceans , killed exotic creations and destroyed beautiful landscapes. Keeping this in mind the nature club of our school- ' The Earth Lovers' came forward on 22nd April - The World Earth Day to protect nature in their own way. After highlighting the importance of the day the students were requested to take a resolution not to harm Earth or any of its creatures in any way.

The Earth Lover's proceeded to start "vermi-compost" in our school. This is an eco-friendly method of converting bio-degradable wastes into organic fertilizers for the plants. We were enlightened on this topic by an eminent environmentalist from Midnapore.
The first part of the session involved slide-shows and lectures on the importance of vermi-composting. The second part consisted of instructions on constructing a vermi-compost pit and filling it with essential raw materials. The students of our school actively participated in this programme. Booklets containing the details of vermi-compost technology were distributed. The day was indeed memorable.
