Nabanna - the offering of the newly harvested rice to the Divine is traditionally held at the end of the November or early December. We celebrated Nabanna on 21st December, 2003. The combination of rice, un-boiled milk, jaggery and various fruits like apple, grapes, dates, raisins and bananas was prepared and tasted delicious. Everyone who paid a visit was offered it as prasad and they loved it.

To mark the event a Sit and Draw Competition and a Recitation Competition was organized for children below 16 years.

Our chief guest for the event and eminent cultural personality Smt Arundhuti Roychowdury gave away the prizes for the Recitation Competition, which was judged by our Principal, Shri Ranjan Mitter. Eminent artist Shri Ramananda Bandopadhyay judged the "Sit and Draw" and gave away prizes.

The food stalls drew crowds since "kachuri aludum", Patishapta - a Bengali sweet dish made from flour, coconut, jaggery, condensed milk - combined well with hot cups of tea.

Everyone present enjoyed themselves immensely in an atmosphere of joy and fun, blessed with Grace.
